Does anyone offer meals (supper, dinner) through booking.com

Hello fellows,

i have just one short question:

Does anyone offer meals, that are included in the room rate?

I am just curious how it works for you. Is one dish enough, or do you off a little choice of 3 different meals, are soups needed or a full menu with dessert?

I am thinking of offering rooms with included dinner. From my experiences after 25yrs in the business I think just the main course would be enough.

I have never seen a site offering supper or dinner with the rooms on bdc. Has anyone a link to a property that does?

Thank you very much

Thomas

My question in return is, what do you charge for one meal?

- percentage of total extra -

Curious!

And hope you get a lot of replies, Thomas.

Greetings

I would charge 14,-- Euros for a single local dish. The guests may choose 1 out of 3 different dishes.

I offer meals occasionally or a better word, sporadically.

Then I don't charge since that would be for a special celebration like a person stayed a long time in a row or other circumstances.

Normally when you charge a meal, you have to pay commission over it as well. And that becomes expensive.

That's why I think your meals are not highly priced if they are good, decent size meals.

It's also depending on the quantity you prepare and if you serve at different times. Then you become more like a restaurant.

What is the maximum number of guests you can cook for? These are all factors you have to take into account.

Interesting topic.

Anyone else?

Wishing you a great season, with yummy food!

Greetings

Hello Aaltje!

Most of our customers are families from your origin country.

I know dining in the Netherlands is much more expensive then around here...

And yes, we ARE a restaurant. Pre-booking food would just be an additional offer for the guest.

They eat in our house anyway during their stay.We serve 20-100 meals a day, depending on the season. All freshly cooked a la carte.

Regarding commision: We don´t pay a very high commision in our region. It´s already included in the mentioned price.

Hi Thomas

Sounds Great!!

Your prices sound OK then. You will be busy soon.

Here leaves start to yellow soon, so we are slowing down with guests now. Apart from hosts in the big cities and of course Central / Queenstown and ski areas where it's all go, year round.

We get Dutchies too here tomorrow, but only one couple, via a Dutch organisation. Works well :)

Enjoy the season Thomas.

Greetings

Aaltje B.

Yes, have a nice autumn now :-)

We did the last skiing 2 days ago and look forward into spring now :-) Summer season starts in April, when the first travellers go down to Lake Garda and Tuscany.

Have a nice time in NZ!

All the best from Tyrol,

Thomas
