I know reviews are a touchy subject, as there are many issues. I just wanted to highlight a new aspect to their review system.
I had a guy book my single room for 3 nights for someone else. I looked after that guest, they were elderly so need a little bit of TLC which is not a problem. I dropped the guest up to the airport and we said our goodbyes.
The person who booked me reviewed me. He paid for the booking but never stayed.
Apparently this is ok with booking.com, that someone who booked, who never stayed, was never going to stay can review you ???
I got told today sure in 2 years those reviews are gone. But for me, that's not the point, the point is that booking.com allow a person who never stayed in your accommodation to publicly review you and publicly make comments when they never set foot in your property.
I got 7.5 across the board which is not a good review, this is not the reason I am following up on this, but I think its bizarre that booking.com are allowing this. As fellow partners, this can happen to each one of you.
I have asked to see where this is in their terms and conditions as I could not find it.
