  • Dear Cassid,

This exact situation happened to me too, however in that case I got a 5.2.

And that surely pissed me off that I was yelling at BDC on the phone.

Even the comments in the review are plain dumb.

We cannot expect anything of BDC when it comes to reviews. That we all know now. So whatever comes, let it be, reply if you can and screw it.

I stopped caring about reviews a long time ago, because frankly it's my emotional state that goes to waste for nothing.

    Best regards,

    Zsolt - www.thuild.com

    Hi Zsolt and fellow partners,

I hear you but this is not about regular reviews.

This is about someone who never stays in your property, nor where they going to but they are allowed to review because they paid for another person to stay.

It is absolutely ridiculous and it demeans the effort that we provide to ensure our booking.com are looked after while they stay with us.

We are the on the ground ambassadors of booking.com, but they are screwing us big time here.

It's not about a one review its about the process of allowing someone who never stayed to review us, even TripAdvisor you must have stayed or eaten to be eligible to review.

Booking.com are allowing non guests to defame us which has legal implications for all us partners

"Defamation, calumny, vilification, or entrancement is the communication of a false statement that, depending on the law of the country, harms the reputation of an individual, business, product, group, government, religion, or nation"

    Libel and slander : https://www.defamationireland.com/libel-and-slander/

I have asked 3 times to be show the terms and conditions which allow this crazy rule to be applied.

You could have a travel agent book rooms, you look after your guests amazingly, you have a difference of opinion with the travel agent and they can give you a score of 1-1-1-1-1

cassid BDC is a huge company. Do you think that they did not get the best lawyers to cover them? In their T&C regarding reviews they indemnify themselves from anything that is written. I had posted the relevant text some time ago.

But let's be practical - I have a small B and B - if I kick up a fuss because a guest lied or wrote a review in someone else's name do you think they really care? They would maybe care if I was the owner of a chain of 5 star hotels spread across the globe. So as Zsolt said - just let it go. I know it hurts when there are obvious lies but what hurts more is when they show you they don't care. So you have to try and not care either.

This has happen to us a well and we were told they book so they can review end of story.

Booking.com are based in Amsterdam where the law allows them to do all kind of thing that they wouldn't get away with in other countries.

We just received a review with the heading

    • Give money to onest people not to those criminals
    • and they accused us of stealing  And that is fine with booking.com they won't remove it.
