guests leaving without paying!

We have had several guests leave without paying and all of them say because Booking takes their cc they think they have paid. this has been a big issue for us. we have a lot of people that leave very early in the morning (4am) for Machu Picchu. Maybe it could be made more clear on the Booking site that they are required to pay on site? Very frustrating. Do most of you take payment on arrival? or departure? anyone else have issues with this?? thanks in advance!

Casadewow welcome to the forum. My payments are made through BDC so payments are safe and have no problem what time guests depart.

How do we arrange that on Booking? I thought they did not take payments... if they do.... do they charge more for commission on top of their already very high commission rates?

They do take payments through a bank you choose. They transfer money through bank account 30-40days after guests depart. The commission remains 15% but you pay 3-5 Euros commission to bank for every transaction. My payment policy is 100% prepayment.

I reported it as a guest misconduct, just so Booking.com can review. The guests agreed to make the payment because I called them after they left, but I don't know how Booking will proceed with their credit card details.
