Hi, I have my first booking today through booking.com. I have used airbnb and homeaway for many years.
As booking.com does not handle damage deposits, I was told by booking.com support to ask for payment directly from guest.
As like many holiday properties, not hotels, we are not living on the property, I can only take authorized payment via credit card over the phone.
I did message the customer when he booked to say we would need a credit card for the deposit.
He has just messaged me, with "sorry mate , i can not give you mycard details without a receipt. can i meet him there.
He has just rung me to say he does not know me, he is not leaving card details. i have told him, i dont know him, so without a deposit he is not going into unit.
