Guest wants to change payment card

    Hello,
    I am tring to answer this question.
    You could try to mark guest’s credit card as invalid, then the system will ask guest to update their credit card info, and guest would have a chance to input new card info. Hope it works ~

    Thanks for the post!

    Well, have you processed the first card already? Is he asking for a refund of his first payment and he wants to pay with another card? Because that sounds a little bit dodgey to me. 

    If he wants to use another card, just take the new card's details and process that instead. Easy as that, Booking.com doesn't need you to have the correct card details on the system.

    But isn't Booking automatically going to deduct the money from the card that he saved at the time the booking was made? If yes, then the system must have the correct card details. Is there a way to change the card details in the system?

    Hi there,

    That depends, Booking.com only deducts the money from the card if you have that arrangement with them. The one where Booking.com charges the guest. 

    The client needs update the card details on the system, you won't be able to do it on your side. You can mark them as invalid so that the process is triggered for the guest to load new ones though. 

    If all else fails, phone a friend at Booking.com.

    The guest should be able to log into their booking (via booking.com website or app) and update their details themselves.  As they chose to make their booking via booking.com just tell them they also need to make any changes via booking.com, you can not do this for them.

    Angela's answer sounds best to me... they chose to book via Booking.com so any changes need to be made the same way... otherwise chaos could ensue.

    Hi, if you haven't charged the guest yet on the 1st card details as provided by the guest then do not worry about this you need to update the card details which finally guest would like you to charge in your system.

    Also you can mark the 1st card as invalid and request the guest to update the details for the new card, this way it will get updated automatically  

    Booking.com never ask you card details you have used for the payment it is to your descreet and your reference only, but its always good to update the payment status on extranet upon recieving the payment or charging any guest
