Setting Up a Holiday Home with Variable Rates

Hi,

I'm just setting up two gites in France on the platform and I am having difficulty setting them up with the pricing model I want to use and was wondering if anyone has done something similar...

I operate with 2 seasons; low season which is 1st Jan to 28th Jun. then 7th Sept. to 31st Dec. and high season which is 29th Jun. to 6th Sept.

During high season I only want the gites to be booked out on a Saturday to Saturday basis (7 nights or multiples thereof) which I have been able to do with "No Arrivals" & "No Departures" and there is a specific daily rate for this.

During low season, I am happy for people to book anything from 4 nights upwards and they can book on any day of the week, however, this is where I am unsure if this can be done; if a guest books 6 nights they are charged a slightly higher rate than 7+ nights; if they book 5 nights they a charged a slightly higher rate that 6 nights and finally if they book 4 nights they are charged a slightly higher rate than 5 nights. They are not able to book less than 4 nights. The pricing takes into account the effort involved in preparing the gites for shorter stays.

Has anyone implemented this and if so how?

Thanks

I have the same question, in that I want the daily rate to be more than 1/7th of the weekly rate?

I'm reasonably sure there is no direct method of doing this but there are work-arounds. (I'm hotel not gite or apartment, there maybe different settings available)

1) Use promotions, starting with the highest rate and discount down appropriately using the the minimum-stay feature. This appears in the drop down menu for room type in your calender. (If not present ask BDC to add it).

e.g. daily rate is 140(your currency).

Promo for 4 day stay @ minus x% discount = 130/n

Promo for 5 day stay @ minus y% discount = 120/n

Promo for 6 day stay @ minus z% discount = 110/n etc.

2) Offer more room types.

e.g. MyGite 7days or more = 100/n

MyGite 6 days = 110/n

MyGite 5 days = 120/n

Mygite 4 days = 130/n etc.

I hope that is of use.

Thank you very much for the suggestion. I will have a look at this and see how it works for me.
