Decorating tips

We close twice a year and paint what need to be painted, we live in Spain and the apartment is part of the house but separate with it’s own entrance, it’s decorated minimalist style white and grey everything matches and white paint is easier to touch up between changeover, it only takes a couple of hours to dry, everything like pictures are screwed down and can’t be moved it’s like a film set . We paint it normally once a year and redress the other week that we close. We choose weeks to close when we never have bookings like December and October , the apartment when not in use always has a dehumidifier running to keep it sweet and dry. Doesn’t cost much but keeps out the damp and bad smells just remember to clean the filters.

I have two properties that need a quick freshen up with paint this month. Our pictures and mirrors on the walls are hung normally but stuck with velcro so they don't move, but can be removed easily enough when it's time to decorate. I'd like to find a slightly better solution, but this is fine for now. These two properties are closed in January and February - they can smell a bit musty and damp by the start of March. It's not practical to run dehumidifiers or anything for the 2 months, so we do a deep clean and put the heating on to warm the properties through at the beginning of March. This weekend we'll do a quick maintenance clean on them both. In one of them, I'll fit a couple of extra electricity sockets before the start of the season too .....
