Special Offers or incentives for returning guests

 HI folks

We are still relatively new to this but have had a decent enough year renting out our holiday home. We have already had a couple of returning guests, and moving forward we would definitely like to focus on getting decent guests back as it's so much easier than first timers.

Is there any way to apply a set discount for returning guests, or send them out some sort of E voucher - that kind of thing?

Im using 3 major sites and im not seeing this sort of option on any of them. Im aware that I could liase with the guests, they pick dates, I apply a special rate for those dates and they book them but it doesnt seem overly professional. I know for sure that a couple of my returning guests would love to know they are getting "exclusive" prices and preferential treatment in return for being such lovely and easy to deal with people.

Interested to hear any advice

Thanks

It’s my first year but I think that if my best guests make a reservation for next year I will offer them a small discount or a night free showing my appreciation for choosing my place again.

We also prepare nice welcome back card and try to arrange the same room as same time they stayed.

I think thats a brilliant idea and we would offer a discount should there be a way booking.com could feature it (as a button) as the easier they make it possible the better for time strapped hardowrking owners

I agree with Crockcockwood, it would be great to have returning guests identified by Booking.com when they book. A button would give them an exclusive discount.

Thanks

Yes I like the button returning guest with an exclusive discount. It would be very helpful if such button could be featured in our listing so returning guests can see it when searching. A very attractive promotion...

Great idea guys....

I run on Booking into offering a monetary incentive at no extra cost. When a guest makes a reservation and pay in advance he will get an instant monetary incentive.

I'm not sure who will give discount thou. It's not very clear.

You have to be very cautious with all these discounts you agree to on Booking. I learned that any discounts can be combined just for one reservation. One of my guests "Genius", made a reservation in a lest expensive room (which was by the way unavailable) got a 10% discount plus a free upgrade, plus service payment to Booking. I was shocked.

It is fine when you charge for the night a couple of hundred dollars. In our case, every penny counts. I'm also not sure this monetary incentive offer applies to return guests or Genius guests as well.

For returning guests Booking should charge less for service. We should be awarded for good work having guests who are coming back to us. Maybe that what it is? I wonder if anybody has more information. The program is good to the end of October so is not much time left.

I think there is an economic explanation that such an 'exclusive returning guest discount' program does not exist. Any returning guest discount would lower commission venue, while these guests might book again anyway (in your, or in another venue). Also, these guests are more likely to book directly in the end, i.e. loss for Booking. Hence, main interest is in loyalty of travelers to Booking in general (with Genus-programs etc.), not to a specific venue. I can understand that. It is up to us as partners how we want to deal with that in our contacts with our guests.
