Troubled Guest

The above is a Classic example of troubled guest.

despite the fact that the house rules are in each room, the above tenant would cook his rise and take the pan into his room placing it on the night stand causing burns and food spells all over the bed and bedding's for 3 days keeping it in his room while other guests were inconvenienced by his actions, not to mention the smells and other odors coming from his room.
when the cleaning lady went in to clean the room she found all five (5) pans and pots with many stencils in his room and some were in the bathroom with burned candles in-em as tribute chines culture, leaving few other guests stripped from their privileged use of the kitchen and cooking pots & pans, in addition to leaving the kitchens counter and floor very messy with lots of oils and soy sauces spelled everywhere.

When the host asked him to not take kitchen items into the room, and that we offer disposable plates and utensils for use in rooms and put in trash bins once done with-em not on the floor specially since we have 2- trash bins with lids in every room, and also no lighting or fire of any kind is allowed, candles in cooking pots & pans is also not acceptable, not to mention the burns on the bathroom door-step and wax in the shower stall.

He said and i quote; This place no good i no like too much talk talk talk, in china we no talk talk to much, i will make not good story you will see. unquote

It was after he left which was the following day, that we realized he had broken the curtains roller strings and damaged the curtains track by pulling the curtains closed and not using the strings causing rips in the golden/cream colored expensive curtains.

I was surprised that he called to come again directly to book with us., he thought we've forgotten what he done, but we keep a ledger of activities such as this, and when we look at his name on our computer, we saw the horrible list of things he'd done and denied him his reservation directly with us, and thought it's a good idea to share with all this information, not only in case he shows up again, but for future reference that help us and hopefully others from this kind of behavior by checking on things in the community areas more often to make sure that all guests have the pleasure of enjoying all the benefits of staying in our residence.

The funny thing is, he managed to write a review and did give us a 7.1 which I thought he would never go that high, giving the arguments we had with him over his behavior.

My assistant and the cleaners laughed for days talking about the 7.1 review score we've gotten from him, it still kills me laughing every time we talk about it at work.

My cleaning girls told us, he asked if she knew how to cook rise the chines way, and when she said no she don't know, she said, he told her she make not good wife, hehehe

She didn't mention before, she just didn't want any trouble giving his attitude at the time.

Oh Georgeboujaoude, I laughed so much reading your latter comment about him telling the cleaning girls they would not make a good wife because they can't cook traditional Chinese food LOL!

He sounds a nightmare on the proprietary side, but culturally, I can see why he would have done that.. he was improvising without any thought to the damage he was causing, or the potential fire risk. I love different cultures, all incredible. I come from a background of English, Irish and Russian Jew, but also was raised in different cultures such as middle-eastern and Jamaican/West Indian and Indian so have a very good basic understanding of those cultures. When there's a discourse, it can get pretty heated, very high impassioned ("I will invoke the heavens to blow out your roof!" but, there's no grudge and it's finished ("I see you the same date next month!". When two Westerners argue over something, grudges are held and it's all out war that not even a cup of tea can resolve ;-) I am, of course, joking with that last comment.

I just came across your posts and thought I would let you know that when a guest has misbehaved or damaged your place, you can click on the "Report Guest Misconduct" button in your reservation. This will allow you to not only convey the matter to Booking.com but can be a way for you to claim damages. Booking.com would normally ask you if they should follow up with the guest and/or ensure they are unable to book your accommodation again in the future.

Booking.com are very helpful in this regard.
