Unless there is a circumstance in your country where a guest is not liable for tax then this is certainly not possible.

Not paying a security deposit is very much down to your policies as listed on BDC. If it is clearly shown that it will be expected then the guest has no excuse.

With the above taken into account, my alarm bells would also be ringing like mad. Not conforming to property policy IS sufficient reason to refuse entry or even eject the offender. Again, according to your policies, you may need to give/approve a partial refund if the stay has been paid for.

Make sure you also report them to BDC for misconduct, you can 99% guarantee a bad review so do the same. In your answer to their bad review you can also mention that you had to report them ;-)

I've got a slightly different problem. I ask for 1st nights fee in advance 1 week before reservation however I've had 2 sets of guests not paying, not communicating. However if I cancel 3 days before the date of the reservation I'm unlikely to get another booking for that time anyway and have wasted quite a bit of time contacting them. I don't accept credit cards.

Unless you have a method of obtaining payment without the guest present, either off line credit card to you or BDC collect payment, I'm afraid your policies are worthless.

False bookings are an enormous problem that you need to protect yourself against.

Fake reservations, that is all i had for May,that is the first time that is so bad,but that is due to the influx of persons from Haiti and Dominican Republic in my country. They use it for immigration purposes, they claim they are coming to these addresses, when in fact they are going to other friens who are already here, this is a growing problem in my country. when i ask them to pay in advance they do not, when i request cancellation for non-payment,they do not and bookings say, they have to get approval from them ane this is just a problem.
