Rural Stays

What to expect on a rural property - In our case, GPS systems tell the guests that they have arrived at their destination halfway our house, in the middle of the paddock. In other words, the road you are looking for is not existing on paper. We will place a new sign on the road exactly there where the road "stops". Pointing out clearly to continue driving up to the signpost and property number. Then it is still one-kilometre drive. Ignoring this sign leads to the neighbouring property near a very narrow road, where turning is almost impossible and you may have to step out of the car to open a gate and sink in the mud ankle high not wearing gumboots.....Well, out creating now, Ella!

Hi Aaltje Cornelia Petronella Broekhuizen ,

Interesting read, thanks for posting!

Yes, I believe putting up a sign there is the best idea. But what happens if it rains and the guests don't see the signs? You might have some aweful reviews.

Recently I saw someone who suggested putting important information, like that, as a Photo on your extranet. Perhaps you can put up a Map with more accurate descriptions there, people will always go through the photos and pick up that they need to plan their drive well before they leave to get to you.

Hello there. Since I have location problems I tried to put a photo map in my listing but booking.com didn’t allow it. Didn’t understand why?

I will put a sign outside on the road, which will seem like most practical and safe. Any information online will be visual for anyone out there, which is not my aim. See how we go with that first. And my neighbour should be happy, since he won't get any unwanted turning on his side of the road.
