I am also part of  Risk-Free Reservation program.  I have had 2 cancellations for reservations in August.

Hope some partner can enlighten us in this matter..

    Thanks Nikolas for posting...

    Nikolas,

    In searching I found this.

Which rates are Risk-Free Reservations applicable to?

    • This is only applicable to a selected group of semi-flexible and non-refundable rooms and rates.
    • Only single-night reservations are eligible. If your property has a minimum length of stay of more than one night, you won't be able to join the programme for the moment.
    • We guarantee you’ll get paid – but the payment may take longer to arrive in your account than normal non-refundable rates.

Although my property has a minimum length of stay 2 days is eligible for Risk-Free Reservations???

I think I will send a message request to booking.com to give me explanations...

Thank you very much M Adamopoulou. I sent the question to Bdc anyway, it is not clear for me and I would like to understand the criteria with examples of my cancelled bookings..

Nikolas, I called yesterday my local BDC office and they explained to me that only if  in your Reservations details is a remark that reservation is Risk-free you are entitled to the benefits of Risk-free reservations. That  refers mainly to your non-refundable rates.

Above all Risk-free Reservations are only eligible for single-night reservations.

Please give us your feedback... and have a good day...

Don’t worry. I know that it takes time. I prefer to call most of the times.
    Wish you well...

I have had a cancellation for a 2 night stay and was told that it is under the risk free policy. Bdc have found a replacement for one of the nights but not the other. Now on my extranet account it says they don’t need to pay me for the other cancelled night.

l phoned up and asked if I would still get the money for the cancelled night but the person had no idea. I feel it is a very flawed policy and has far too many loopholes that Bdc can get out of.

I am going to opt out unless I do get the money for the cancelled night. I also feel that the whole risk free thing negates the idea of giving a cheaper, non-cancellable rate to guests. What is the point of offering a cheaper rate if they can cancel either anyway?
