Whats the best cancellation policy

I have a 30-day free cancellation policy. I find that a lot of people book more than one place and later cancel. Anyone have any tips to avoid this

Thanks,

Hilton

I am wrestling with the same subject and am looking into going into a strict policy.

There is quite a lot to it and carefully read through the options.

IF you are going to make the change, it will take at least 12 to 24 hours to settle.

People will stop making random bookings and "forgetting" to cancel when choosing one out of 5 bookings in the end.

Go to properties and policies to find more info.

Besides there has been an extensive round of messages about this topic, so if you search it, you will find lots of answers to your question.

Hope this helps, Hilton.

Greetings,

For us the false bookings and cancellations became a massive problem so we had no choice but to change to a strict no cancellation policy.

To enforce this you will need either the ability to process credit cards "off-line" or set BDC to take all payments for you. (They pay you for all check outs in one month on the 15th of the following month)

Cancellations are more then reservations... I am very unhappy...

Strict policies is the only way, I suppose, but its my first year in hosting....

Hope Michael will bring us some more solutions after attending Click 2019...

Have a wonderful day Guys, and dont forget to smile...

Strict cancellation is no use, often they request FREE Cancellations or Booking.com makes appeals for free cancellations.Guest sometimes even play the sympathy card like Child sick travel cancelled.

Best is to have 30 day cancellations, so the chances are you may get bookings later on.

Bookings for 12/21 days months ahead of arrival are sure to cancel, best is to offer airport transfers, request flight information, they are likely to cancel sooner.
