Location Verification

Did you need to have your property verified via mail when signing up just like it is needed when signing up to Google Places?

Hi there Veronika Group,

Thanks for the post!

Yes, your property needs to be verified via a Verification Code that is Mailed from Booking.com's head office in the Netherlands to the address of your property (the address you added when you added the property.).

I was able to get alternative arrangements as my properties are located nationally accross South-Africa and as such I was unable to be at each property to receive the letter. One of my properties could be verified because it is loaded on Airbnb and has 10+ Good reviews.

Feel free to ask should you need to know more!

Good luck!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope it helps others just joining to B.com.
There have been a lot of changes since the last time I added a property.

Pleasure!

Yeah, it's quite the process. But I can imagine why, they probably get a lot of fake properties etc.

Hi Lominadze Tengiz ,

Sorry it's probably too late now but on your Home page on the extranet there is a box where you should put the code in.

Did you win?

Hi there Agcoull,

Thanks for asking.

You don't get it on the agreement. The code is Mailed to your property via the postage service. So you need to physically receive it. Takes a month or so. (If you read prior posts on this same thread you will see there are other options also).

Best of luck!

I never received my location verification code by mail and was told I need to request that they resend it. Where and how do I do that?

We are still new on Airbnb as well so dont have enough reviews yet to verify that way!

Hey Marizaseymour17 ,,

Log onto your extranet and click on the Home button.

Right under the little verification box where you are supposed to type the code in is a hyperlink that says "Didn't get your verification code?", click on that and the pop up will give you the option to resend it.

Hope this helps!

(Welcome to Booking.com! It takes a while to get there, but you will eventually love it .)

You say that the property verification will be sent to the address by mail. We do not have mail delivery in our village as everyone has PO boxes. You never asked me for my postal address.

Hello, folks,

I had a hectic Booking.com registration of my property. After registration, I found verification process. I clicked it, and later I found the physical address of my place is doubled; for example, 222 chestnut street, South Africa, and again, 222 chestnut street, South Africa, etc. As I found no error on the words of my address, I was sure that the verification letter will come. However, it has been 20 days since I clicked "verify", it is still not coming.

I asked help to booking.com, and the local office corrected my address, in a WRONG WAY. I sent emails in my Booking.com inbox, and got the answer that the specialists are working on it, but I still see the wrongfully changed address. Booking.com says I can click "verify" again only AFTER my address is right. However, I have now no income, therefore, I have no time to wait for a single letter for verification.

I have the Airbnb and it has two or three reviews. Is it a viable alternative to start the Booking.com without verifying through the mail? What are the other options I can verify the place as soon as possible?

Thanks,

Hi Tchaosy ,

Hope you are well. Not sure whom you directed your post to as no one here works for Booking.com directly.

I can however advise out of personal experience, they don't send it via the post. They send it via private post delivery. So they go straight to your property, the address you entered, and deliver the mail to you.

Best of luck

Hey Ashleyworld ,

So sorry to hear!

I think you need 10 reviews on Airbnb to get the verification done that way. Alternatively you can ask them to do a video call verification, or property visit. The Property visit one can take much longer as a representative has to physically come to your property. So if you are not in the city center, or easily accessed by main roads, then that one will take too long. Rather ask for the video call verification.

Best of luck
