Delisting my property and closing my account

I just joined booking.com and I have to say, I absolutely hate it. It is too confusing to get around and I much prefer AirBNB. I also have a problem with websites that don’t make it easy to close your account. I have searched everywhere and can’t find my way to delist my property and close my account.

Also so the commission fees on this platform is way too high.

Desperately need help to delist and close my account.

I feel exactly the same!

Yesterday I got two tourists, but the system does not show how much they paid, when I will get the money or any other useful information. I could not communicate with them, and confirm if they would come or not, so I just cleaned the whole house, hoping that they would just show up.

After this first terrible experience, I got a new booking for tomorrow, and again, I cannot see for how long, how much they paid, how many people they are, etc, etc.

Really terrible system, way to difficult comparing to airbnb or wimdu.

I have also just listed my property. Registration was really easy...actually it was so easy that I got reservations before I even knew I could.

Then, when it comes to using/managing your account, it gets complicated. As everything new, this takes a little time for you to get familiar with what you and your guests expect from each-other. It might be certainly well manageable if you are a company and have people trained and paid to manage properties, but if you are just one person having to do this (management of a modest and decent apartment for guests), especially for the first time, it's difficult.

People read multi-page agreements, instructions, watch video presentations, but that's definitely not enough to be sure that they/I got it.

Therefore, at least for beginners, Booking.com could be more supportive by offering online support and make thus sure that everything goes smoothly. Otherwise as a property owner you are under the pressure of having to meet a guest's expectations without knowing very well how reservation/payment works.

Awful sistem! Complicated, difficult to manage. Hate it. My first and last guest have to come tomorrow, but I can't contact with him , and I am not sure . And I don't know what to do

I've been listed on this site for 3 years and I agree with every one of the above comments. I think the only way you can 'delist' is to limit the date to which you are available (eg as of now, not available after 18th September 2018). Just going off to try my own good advice!

Fortunately I havent posted my property yet as available but I agree this system of them is just not working. Looking at all this today and thought it was good. The commission was fine as other South African sites we are advertising on is charging the same. First they tell you that guests will pay u directly before or on checking in, when I go to that page reading the guest payment I only found out then that the guest now pays them and you only get paid the following month after they checked out. NO WAY. The same reason I cancelled with Airbnb. I want my money upfront to ensure reservation and not afterwards. Then I also want the guest details before they arrive so we can communicate.

I am glad my property isnt live yet but to try to delist and deactivate my account is a headache. I will see what happens from here on

Agree with everything above. Absolutely hate the way the website is organised. The language is strange and everything is obtuse and it is so greedy as so little is given for the amount of commission they take and not even paying up to a month after the guest has been when they have taken the money from booking time. Will never use booking.com for my business or personal travel again

I inadvertently registered my property twice! I want to delist one of them. This is so difficult as you are directed to the inbox where you are supposed to find the property details which are nowhere to be seen. Am I missing something? I also have to wait for a possible 3 days for a code. I really need to speak to a person but keep on having to interact with what I suspect is a robot. In the past booking.com have been very helpful and have phoned me. They were very understanding and helpful , responded quickly when my house burnt down. Any tips anyone? I have spent many hours on the computer trying to fix this.

I am also in the process of taking my property off booking.com. It is the most complicated booking site I have ever seen. And what is with all these people making bookings for your property and then cancel at the last minute, blocking my place for many months? People told me they just book 20 properties and then cancel 19 at the last minute. Really??!??!?! Booking.com is also not very trusting to new clients as they withhold creditcard details until just 2 weeks before arrival. We always take payment at time of booking but booking.com does not seem to allow that. It is a shocking website. More importantly they also do not pay any local sales tax and all profits get taken out of your home country!

TIP: As it seems near impossible to delist your property the best solution is to set the room rate to 10000 dollars or so. That high nobody will book it anyway ;)

I'm leaving Booking.com. Just cannot get it right, site too difficult to build. Too many dropdowns that don't make sense, I also accidentally registered one property twice because of Internet probs – and do you reckon I can cancel one account? No. There is no live body to talk to, not a chat, not an email facility. Dangerous company, I'd say! Dammit, this is supposed to be an interesting, adventurous experience, not shackles on me!

I just closed all my calendars. Luckily no bookings, yet.
