Hey, its Paul & Clare here! We have renovated an old cottage in the grounds of our property, and offer just two luxury rooms in Long Melford, Suffolk, England. We opened in May 2018, and have just won a guest review award on b.com with a score of 9.9!!

The cottage overlooks the stately mansion of Melford Hall, making The Mill the perfect place to stay in the centre of Long Melford!

Our two boutique rooms are beautifully furnished and have private off road parking and their own individual entrances, offering both privacy and flexibility so guests can come and go with ease.

The Melford Room is open plan and spacious. It features a sumptuous freestanding brass and nickel bath in the living area and beautiful hand polished cast iron radiators. The room offers a real sense of space and has a small outdoor seating area offering a lovely vista toward the soaring spires of Melford Hall.

The Garden Room is calm and relaxing, and has a charming garden for the exclusive use of its guests; a delight in the summer months! The garden is perfect for eating breakfast al fresco or cooking an evening barbecue. A wood burner is installed for the winter which makes for a very romantic stay.

Both rooms are very generous in size measuring apx 300ft2. and have large, wall mounted televisions, walk in showers and luxury baths. The rooms are single storey, making them very accessible and they form part of a Grade II listed cottage that used to serve the working mill in times gone by. Completely renovated in 2018 and brought back to their former glory, the Grade II listed cottage and Hall Mill house can be found on Historic England's Heritage list.

The Mill is steeped in history being mentioned in the Domesday Book. It sits next to the ford which crosses Chad Brook, giving Long Melford its name (“Mill Ford”). In addition, the famous war poet Edmund Blunden lived here until his passing in 1974; Edmund studied, wrote poetry and died at The Mill, there is a collection of some original books by Edmund Blunden for guests to enjoy at their leisure.

    Our website is www.themill-longmelford.com

Come and stay with us but of course you must book via booking.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi there,

I'm Mario and I live in sunny Limassol, Cyprus. I manage 2 of my own apartments as well as 3 other properties for my clients. What I love about hosting is not just meeting new and exciting people but ensuring that they have the best time while they are in Cyprus.

One of my properties is a 2 bed apartment opposite the sea which we fully renovated when we purchased it a few years ago. I ensure that the property is maintained to a very high standard and that it has everything that a guest might need or require.

Our second property is a stylish modern studio which is also very close to the sea and all our guests love it as it feels home to them.

I began managing properties on a full-time basis around a year ago and absolutely love the buzz and challenge of the hospitality industry.

Mario very nice to have you here.  I love Cyprus and have many friends from Limassol and  Paphos. I checked out your properties, they are both beautiful. Very nice decorated with warm colours and very relaxing. Being near the sea is very tranquilizing.

Once i managed to reach it i will stop hosting then.. But then.... The more guests staying at home, the more friends i've got.. , knowing different people with different cultures is sooo much fun!!!! . And now I kind of loving it!! , And i think its something i like doing!! .. Im so passionate about it now,, that in days I don't have booking It feels like something is missing . lol

Lucy thank you very much, I highly appreciate it. I love French wines and especially Malbec. Maybe in the near future we can enjoy a glass of your superb wine.  I have visited so many times your country. I love it. Hope I can come back someday. My husband loves driving so we have enjoyed your fantastic country both in winter and in summer. Starting from Nice we have visited the beautiful towns along the amazing French Riviera (Cote d'Azur)  ending to stunning St. Tropez. A  shore excursion with stunning views to the sea. Another time we visited  Paris, the city of lights, (Aifel tower,  Museums, galeries, churges, heritage towns, monuments).with its dazzling boulevards and bridges, Versailles, Dijon, Fontainebleau, Le Man. Once in wintertime our destination was the  breathtaking Chamonix,  and the beautiful petit villages in the valleys of Mont Blanc. Unbelievable, like a fairy tale scenery. Bordeaux, Royan, Toulouse, Albi, Montpellier, Rodez, Roquefort, Nimes have been some other unforgettable places we have visited  and so many more that I cant remember.

At this point I must mention that my first guest was a couple  from Eglise Villeneuve, Cot d' Azur. I was thrilled.  I welcomed them with a glass of Greek red wine and they  left  me with an excellent review.

Sorry, if I got carried away. France is a legend for me...

Lucy, thanks for sharing with us  a marvelous dinner....

Hi to everybody , my name is Shiloh and my guest Lodge is situated on the Southern most tip of Africa where all the Southern Right whales come to give birth every Sept.I am based in the seaside hamlet of Hermanus and run two lodges Squirrels Leap and Matshana Lodge. Between the two is a small tribal Arts museum open to guests . We are a stones throw from a white sandy beach with beautiful walks along the coastline. (From Cape Town airport about 1 hr)  I also travel to Europe frequently and love networking with other hosts from various countries . My greatest joy is sharing the unique wild life heritage and biosphere individualism of this area, notwithstanding a good glass of Merlot with a international traveler. We have a wine valley called Heaven and Earth and here you can sit for hrs watching the golden African sunsets while nibbling on tasty seafood snacks.Hosting for Booking.com is the best job in the world where the global village becomes one and their are no more borders , we are just one big family .

HI - I have been with booking.com for over three months now and all is going pretty damn good.  I started with Air B'n'B in July 2018 but booking started to dry up after two good months - so went with the suggestion of a Dutch guest to try Booking.com and never looked back since. I have a Victorian semi-detached 4 bed B'n'B within walking distance of the great city of Liverpool, so I am blessed with guests all year round - so it would appear - hardly any rooms free every weekend till June !

Before this I went round the world and other places with the Royal Navy, then went into Probation did this for 15 years, managed African bands and set up as a therapist. I have to say this is perhaps the best job I have had - and starting to become the best well paid to boot. I do all the work myself at the moment - decorated the whole house with Beatles LP's - all originals (most older than me) and art from local artists - which is a bit querky and although it has not earnt me any money yet it looks great and guests love it.

My next venture is to rent out high end mountain bikes to guests - need to make some indestructable chains and locks (this is Liverpool after all !) - which I will do this month after I get paid. I have already got 6 bikes to rent (got them all second hand for £220 !) just need a bit of work to get them all serviced and good to go. I am surprised more people are not thinking of doing the same on 'here' - best way to see any place / country and so good for you / environment. I will try and keep people posted as to how this goes - any ideas or advice most welcome .

Cheers Peace and LOve - from the friendliest city in the world !!!
