Cancellations

I am new to bookng.com and have listed a flat recently. I did not realise that guests can book too far in advance till someone has just booked the place for March 2019.

The issue I have is the site will be undergoing for maintenance during those dates & I am not sure how can I cancel the booking. And if I cancel the booking, will this have adverse impact on my account since I am new?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

Rather late than never, have you been assisted?

I would suggest requesting to cancel the booking with the guest with no cancellation fees charged. Ask them to give you their detaisl so you may contact them when you are able to honor the booking.

It's a bit unethical but you can maybe just have a chat with Booking.com about your options to make sure everything is done above board. The last thing you want is a guest contacting Booking.com telling them you want them to cancel the Booking.com reservation and book straight through the property.

Hope this helps!

I have put a cancellation policy in place but none of my no shows or cancellations get charged and I do not get paid anything even for last minute booking

Why do Booking.com take so long to cancel a reservation after mailing them? Some time it is days? This should be a dedicated section that come back to one the same day if not an hour or two later. LOST revenue to say the least. I have taken it on myself and open the room or rooms now and will see what happens?

I think in the whole Booking.com site this is the one thing they have to get right? Shocking replies and service?

Hey Laaksb ,

Scary isn't it? Opening a room yourself, not knowing if the previous guest is actually going to cancel or not.

Hey Chandan46523 - you will need to take a look at your cancellation policy and your Payment method. If they provide a credit card, then you swipe first and ask questions later.

Best of luck
