Thanks Zsolt, that was a top discussion of last year!

For more inspiration (in the way of photos), check out this thread: Your Guest Breakfast Offering

Rambujehotel, if you've got a particular challenge for breakfast that you need tips for (for example, early check outs), let the community know. The more information, the better :)

    Happy posting!

My personal approach is - advertise on booking site that cooked brakfast os available if you want this then book it - I provide a continental style breakfast for free - so most people are not bothered about paying for something they may feel they don't need. Yes this does cost me a little bit more - but to me it's all about good customer relations - and look at the reviews I get must have some impact and pays in other ways

    hi guys

simple put on the booking.com extranet about the breakfast charges and if early check-outs they will not care to pay for it but keep in mind tell the guest on arrival that these are the food menu available in case of early check-out so u will not miss the guest anymore.

Good day! What we do is that we offer breakfast with a standard contribution with no description because we al always prepare food on morning and night so what is available and new ideas we serve. So our menu is according to the person who wants to cook so it varies. The main ingredients for breakfast are fruits, tea, grains and diferente options per day as the local breakfast in the area. The secret is the mix of spices or ingredients and because we have open/shared kitchen, many guests interact in the cooking expirience!

I am self-contained with my farm stay and have muesli or granola and oats available at all times. On arrival, my guests can let me know what they would like as an extra. Some didn't bring anything and they insist in paying me for their breakfast which is whatever they like. Some foreign people don't understand what self-contained is and the last thing I want to do is seeing a guest leave unhappy with an empty stomach.

But anyway, often people like a little extra like milk, or some prefer just a few slices of brown bread.

Milk is not digested well by everyone, for some, it's a treat and others simply don't care. As long as they have their coffee. And that is available at all times. Organic, Fair-trade, fresh kuku coffee. Nothing that sets you off better than a great coffee in the morning! YAY

Food allergies, Glenn McKnight  they are on the rise isn't it.

So gluten free options are more and more requested.

Home-made yoghurt and farm milk from the cow - all grass based, no hormones used, people admire a lot.

Eggs are a good one too.

I have tried to make waffles also gluten free with a small waffle maker, and they looked and tasted amazing too.

My grandson can't have gluten, egg and dairy and managed to create a waffle with oat milk and grapeseed oil or coconut oil, coconut sugar grinded  it in the coffee grinder, and added egg replacer. And it worked, very yummy! There are alternatives. It took some extra effort but got it now. Worth trying.

Enjoy all your guests and your breakfast preparations!

    Greetings,

    Aaltje B.

oh, I forgot Glenn, the gluten free flour. Of course that is the main ingredient and it works the same as normal flour.

    Greetings,

    Aaltje B.
