Hi everyone, my name is Ted, I own a vacation rental duplex in Bozeman, Montana. I recently added booking.com as an additional platform to secure bookings. We've built a website to showcase the property at www.stayinbozeman.com. Our property has two units and three options for rentals. The 3BR/2BA unit, the 2BR/2BA unit and the option to book the entire property. Our property is being marketed to tourists and visitors to Bozeman, Yellowstone NP

To surprise and delight our guests, we welcome each guest with wine, caramels and guest passes to the local hot springs. I'm pleasantly surprised that most guests leave the property extra clean, despite being charged a cleaning fee.

Our favorite place to travel is to Europe, Mexico and we hope to visit Colombia this coming year.

    Thanks for the welcome.

    Ted, Bozeman, MT

    Howdy,

We are  new to Booking.com and enjoy reading about what others are concerned with. No matter where in the world, we all have the same concerns!  I think this forum is a great way to learn from others about improving our guest’s experience while staying in our properties.

We own a vacation rental home on about 50 mountain-top acres in Southern Colorado.  Our claim to fame would be that the property is extremely private, but only 8 miles to town and a short drive to so many activities, including Wolf Creek Ski Resort, Great Sand Dunes National Park, and many waterfalls, hot springs and quaint towns.

Many guests have appreciated the fact that,  while being a large 6 bedroom home, is completely off-the-grid, 100% solar.

Thanks, y’all for welcoming us into the Booking.com community

    Stan and Michael Tucker-McDermott.

Hello Balcon-des-Jasses you have a point. I have joined PPP since it’s my first year. I absolutely agree that commission is too high but BDC is a most popular platform and attracts guests. If you are in business for such a long time it’s obvious that you can live without it. So it’s Christmas, let us enjoy it!!!

    Greetings from Magoebaskloof South Africa.

Somewhere in Limpopo (Northern Province) between Polokwane and Tzaneen on the R71, tucked in the folds of the Magoebaskloof Mountains, you find a little Hamlet called Haenertsburg. The Spirit of this little 'village' is one of meeting and celebration. Be that in the middle of the street, at coffee shops, at  local pubs or even the most beautiful, tranquil cemetery. It all happens with a hug, a kiss and a genuine 'how are you?'.

Then just for fun, five times a year - we share our lives with the rest of the world. In February we celebrate the Berries, in April, Food and Wine, in July - Holism, in September - Spring and in December - Christmas. Some lovingly refer to our community as a little drinking, dancing, laughing  village with a farming problem.

The Yellow Wood Tree is our National tree (south Africa) and many grow in this neck of the woods. Yellow Wood Cottage has splendid views of both the Iron Crown and Haenertsburg. We are surrounded by forests both indigenous and commercial, which allows fabulous hiking trails, mountain biking and a host of activities. Organic living is high on the agenda for many of our local residents.

Our home was built into an aircraft hangar, which hosts large open spaces and views in terms of the two units Spitfire and Baron.

    We love living here.

Looking forward to chatting to you. Louise and Garry

    Hello Everyone!

My name is Jash Soham. My family owns an independent hotel in Kaufman, Texas just outside of Dallas. We have been with booking.com since 2012. Fun fact: We have had this property since 1993 and have completed 25 years in business. Although we have done extensive remodeling, we still have a long ways to go! I hope to learn a lot through this forum.

    • Hi everyone!!

We are new here. We are a small property in the center of Madrid, Spain (a family run guesthouse). It has recently been renovated and we opened in April this year!

We have just discovered this Forum on the phone. We wanted to know how to send in a suggestion to Booking.com and the girl who attended us recommended us to check this out!

Our favorite place on Earth would be any new city/village/place which we haven't visited yet! Somewhere to discover new people, food and culture!

    Hello all,

My name is Karen. I am the General Manager for a 26 unit Motel (small) in NY state, 1 mile from the border of Massachusetts (Berkshire Mountains) The Motel opened in the early 1900's as a B&B. Then sold, that owner added one side then added the other two sides.  The 3rd owner (present) has owned this for about 30 years. The Motel has a bit of history here in the town.

We have a guest that comes in once a year, around the holidays, that says she remembers her mother cooking for the B&B. We get some guests that remember coming here when they were children, skiing at the Ski area which is in both NY and Massachusetts (I've mentioned that in previous topics) which we are only about a mile from. While we update, we must keep some of the charm and character per listening to these guests. They want to keep their memories, at the same time understand we must do updating.

As for the forum, I was emailed as part of an opportunity. I am very happy that I am part of this. It helps me learn some things and meet all of you : )

My favorite place on earth.. somewhere absolutely peaceful and beautiful, near an ocean with white sandy beaches and blue water (I've only been to South Carolina and Florida as a child). But, my Husband and I love Lake George NY. We go there yearly on Vacation. I will never fly (scared to death of flying) so the only way to see my favorite place in person would be by cruise or by your photos haha

    HI Lapetallar ,

I believe that once you sign up on Booking.com and they verify your account/lodging and you start working with them, you must sign a contract before that in which you can see that there's one clause specifying you should pay for the commission every month after the month when you received your guests. I am not sure if that is possible since they want to make the transactions as transparent as possible, but you may have to ask them directly.

You can contact them by calling them, for example. I believe there's an option on your Extranet where you can find the contact information.

    I hope this helped!

    Le Balcon des Jasses

Hi Forum, hi friends. Im Lucy, living in south of France, have run my Bred and Breakfast in 17 years, and it's my passion, I just cannot imagine another life.

I been with Booking.com in almost 10 years now, but work together with our local tourist office ass well.

Booking.com have change a lot in the 10 years, and still change, I like the people, I like the way they improve and make marketing, (relationship to partner) better and better.

BUT, now a New one ARRIVE, AND HERE IM NOT agree anymore, the name is PREFERRED PARTNER PROGRAMME, Its a "big" deal, and promise more booking, up to 40%. (I do not need, Im fully booked almost every day), but if you join this programme, you need to pay a higher commission, THIS IS BAD; 15% is enough to pay, on top of this we pay commission to Bank to take Visa/ aster and or=ther Credit card. I do not agree.

Booking.com care for us customer, big opr small, and great the company are making profit, even very big profit, but No WAY, I Will love to join the new programm, but I will NOT pay more.

Now I will love to hear from you around the world, Merry Christmas, alsaa to Booking.com

Best regards Le Balcon des Jasses

    Lucy.
